The inspiration for SatitCMU Kidspace stems from the idea of combining learning with play. The first floor of the classroom is designed to resemble a forest, while the second floor represents the open sky. The central hall features an elephant playground, paying homage to one of Chiang Mai University's symbols. This imaginative environment stimulates children's creativity and understanding of the world around them.
One of the standout features of SatitCMU Kidspace is the innovative table design. The trapezoid-shaped tables can be joined together to create a hexagon-shaped table, perfect for group learning. The flexibility of the furniture allows for various arrangements, catering to different learning methods and activities.
When it comes to safety, SatitCMU Kidspace has taken every precaution. The play area is equipped with soft cushions to protect children from falls, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. The use of wooden materials throughout the classroom adds a warm and inviting atmosphere, promoting a comfortable learning environment.
The technical specifications of SatitCMU Kidspace are impressive, measuring 20850 mm x 29100 mm x 6000 mm. This spacious design allows for ample room for children to explore, learn, and play.
The renovation project began in May 2019 and was completed in June 2020 at the Chiang Mai University Demonstration School. The location, situated at 18.794312 98.954852, provides an ideal setting for young learners to thrive.
SatitCMU Kidspace is the result of extensive research and creative problem-solving. The challenge was to preserve the hexagon architectural elements of the existing building while incorporating modern design features. The renovation successfully maintained the building's character, including window patterns, air vent brick blocks, and other distinctive elements.
This exceptional design has not gone unnoticed. SatitCMU Kidspace was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2021 for Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design. This prestigious accolade recognizes the practicality, innovation, and professional standards of the design, contributing to a better educational experience for children.
As SatitCMU Kidspace continues to make waves in the education field, the designer, Pandin Ounchanum, is in the process of patenting the table and chair designs in Thailand. This intellectual property protection ensures the uniqueness and exclusivity of these innovative creations.
With SatitCMU Kidspace, the future of education is bright. This modern classroom design combines art, architecture, and innovation to create a space where children can learn, play, and grow.
